RUSSIA: A BILL TO SILENCE MILLIONS
Political leaders in St. Petersburg are about to vote on law that will make it illegal for any person to write a book, publish an article or speak in public about being gay, lesbian or transgender. The ruling party led by President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin could make millions of people invisible with the stroke of a pen.
Human rights defenders around the country are doing everything they can to stop it. They are risking their freedom to organize flashmobs and protests, but they are afraid that it won’t be enough.
Right now, the world needs to speak up and tell Russian authorities to drop the bill. Join this call to leaders around the world to reach out to their counterparts in the Russian government - and ask them to reject this discriminatory and anti-democratic law.

The ads, which can be as large as 5 by 10 feet, must be related to education, health, student safety, or nutrition. The advertisers who’ve bought in so far are Post-it, Dicks Sporting Goods, and the Library of Congress. Unsurprisingly, the new ads have been met with mixed reviews from parents. Some say it’s just more information clutter for students, but others say it’s good if it brings in revenue for the cash-strapped school district. For the record, the school district is set to make more than $400,000 dollars from the ads.

Arizona questions teachers of English with accents
I think that my biggest question is, given that I absolutely don’t believe that unaccented English exists, what other accents would they exclude?
Is is acceptable to speak like a Londoner, or someone from South Dakota, or someone from Boston?
Who has two thumbs and is a Hufflepuff? I’m a Hufflepuff.
I love them all. I find the spin of Cumberbatch’s “high functioning sociopath” particularly interesting. However, I love Jeremy the best. He’s just so damn cool. A little arrogance, a little swagger, and a whole lot of style. And his intensity gives the great impression that his is the very devil to his enemies. Plus, there is his brother Mycroft, who is really quite awesome.
